HMRC nudge letters being sent to those with 2020/21 P11D discrepancies
14 Jul 2022
HMRC’s Wealthy External Forum have announced that the latest round of One-To-Many ‘nudge’ letters will be aimed at those taxpayers whose 2020/21 tax return contains discrepancies concerning benefits-in-kind. HMRC receive details of such benefits from employers via forms P11D and they have identified a number of tax returns containing details which do not tally with these P11Ds. Taxpayers in receipt of this letter (being sent out now and until mid-August 2022) are advised to check their 2020/21 tax returns and make any relevant corrections within the next 28 days.
