Leading by example: the ADIT Academic Board
At the CIOT, we celebrate the diversity of our near-6,000 strong ADIT community, made up of Affiliates, graduates and students from many different walks of life and located in 120 countries. Reflecting such diversity is the ADIT Academic Board, all of whose members are eminent international tax experts and thought leaders from around the world.
The Board is responsible for overseeing the technical content and rigour of our exams, ensuring ADIT remains the highest standard of professional assessment in the international tax field. Board members have taught at many leading universities around the world, published countless articles in tax journals and textbooks, and advised individual taxpayers, corporations, governments and transnational institutions on an enormous range of cross-border tax subjects. Their highly influential contributions to the international tax landscape and endorsement of ADIT as the leading qualification of its kind have motivated ADIT students from China, India, the USA and beyond.
This year we welcome three new members to the Board, whose respective careers in Australia, India and South Africa are sure to be an inspiration to the many students pursuing ADIT in these countries.
- In Australia, Chloe Burnett is a Senior Counsel specialising in tax and revenue law at Selborne Wentworth Chambers, based in Sydney. She also serves as Vice President of the Australian Branch of the International Fiscal Association (IFA) and teaches on the LLM programme at the Sydney School of Law.
- In India, KR Girish works at the International Tax Research and Analysis Foundation while also running his own practice, KR Girish and Associates, based in Bangalore, and has previously served as the President of the Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
- Prof. Jennifer Roeleveld is an Emeritus Professor and Director of the Tax Unit for Fiscal Research at the University of Cape Town, as well as serving as the President of the South African Brach of the IFA. As the inaugural Academic Board member in South Africa, Jennifer’s appointment promises to help us better serve our growing ADIT community in southern Africa.
