Assessments
Once you have finished studying for each of your DITT modules, you can choose when to take the assessment in the Tolley online assessment centre.
The assessment will consist of 20 objective test questions, in the following formats:
- multiple choice
- multiple response
- pick from a list
- true or false
You will have one hour to answer the questions; the assessment will automatically end after one hour. You must answer 15 out of 20 questions correctly to pass.
The introductory module, Understanding tax technology and its impact: an overview, will not be assessed. The remaining 10 modules will be assessed via the Tolley online assessment centre.
Assessment results
You will get your assessment result via an on-screen message as soon as you finish the assessment. The result will include the mark and the percentage, with a Pass/Fail indication. Once you pass all the required modules, you will be sent an email from CIOT with details on how to claim your certificate.
Information on How to register for the Diploma is available here.

Be sure you are ready to take each assessment and take the practice first. You will be allowed a maximum of four attempts for each assessment.
Reasonable adjustments
Reasonable adjustments will be permitted. Should you require reasonable adjustment, you may complete the application form here. You will need to include evidence in support of your application.
When a reasonable adjustment application has been approved by CIOT, we will liaise with Tolley to ensure that your account reflects this. For example, when you take an assessment, any extra time will be automatically applied. Study materials will be written and formatted in such a way as to ensure compatibility with assistive technology such as screen readers.
