HMRC’s One to Many letter Foreign Tax Credit Relief Double Taxation Allowance project

HMRC’s Wealthy External Forum has issued a briefing to forum members about ‘one to many’ letters being sent to taxpayers stating that HMRC understand that they received investment income, such as interest or dividends from a foreign country, during the tax year 2019/20 and made a claim to relief for foreign taxes paid on that income and that the rate of relief claimed is incorrect.
