HMRC Trust and Estates Agents’ Advisory Group: Summary of 11 September 2024 Meeting

Key points from this meeting are that the Trust Registration Help Cards are now available within the TRS Manual and that the Direct Payment Scheme for paying IHT before the issue of a grant of Probate has now been extended to investment providers. PRs can use the revised IHT423 form to ask brokers, investment management firms and pension or life insurance providers to sell shares or assets and release funds from the deceased’s investment accounts to pay directly to HMRC.
