Import/export: Prevent and resolve ‘no match’ scenarios between CDS and IPAFFS

23 May 2024

Following feedback from industry, HMRC and Defra have developed two technical communication products that provide technical detail on how to prevent and resolve ‘no match’ scenarios between HMRC’s CDS (customs declaration service) and Defra’s IPAFFS (import of products, animals, food and feed system).

The technical communications are designed to address some emerging common issues following the introduction of sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) checks since 30 April and are intended to supplement, and not replace, the standard task-focused guidance on GOV.UK. HMRC have also published a video on YouTube on Importing sanitary and phytosanitary goods from the EU - Importing sanitary and phytosanitary goods from the EU.
