Navigating HMRC Enquiries: What Tax Professionals Need To Know
Wednesday 9 April 2025 | 12:30 - 13:30 GMT
The Future of Tax Professionals (FTP) committee is aimed at helping students or members of the ATT and/or CIOT who are in the first ten years of their career. The committee host events such as development skills, networking, social events, technical and general interest topics that are particularly relevant to those in the early part of their career.
The committee will be holding a webinar on Wednesday 9th April 2025 with Tom Wallace at 12.30pm on “Navigating HMRC Enquiries: What Tax Professionals Need To Know".
With plans to recruit 5,000 compliance officers, we can expect renewed compliance activity and increased enquiries from HMRC in future to help close the growing UK tax gap.
Receiving an enquiry can be a daunting process for any tax professional. What is an enquiry? What can a tax enquiry cover? How should I communicate with HMRC? Is the enquiry valid?
Tom Wallace, Director of Tax Investigations at WTT and former HMRC Inspector, joins the Future of Tax Professionals committee to help answer these questions, along with sharing valuable insights from his wealth of experience in this area. This promises to be an insightful and informative event for tax professionals at all levels.
This event qualifies as CPD, if you have included topics covered in this event in your CPD submission.
This virtual event is free to join and will include live Q&As with the ability to submit questions directly to our speaker.
We hope you can join to engage with like-minded tax professionals on this important topic that can support you within your career in tax.
