Research Grants

We invite proposals for high quality research related to the activities of the CIOT. Note that we expect applications to be made relating to research which contributes to our charitable objective:

“to advance public education in and promote the study of the administration and practice of taxation and the principles of economic and political science in relation to taxation.”

Please only submit your application if it meets this objective.

The application form and guidance notes can be downloaded using the following links:

All submissions will be treated in confidence.

Are you unsure whether your research meets the criteria? Prior to applying, please submit for our consideration an overview (maximum 1,500 words) of:

  • your research question,
  • objectives,
  • methodology,
  • expected outputs and impact,
  • suggested way in which the research contributes to CIOT’s above charitable objective

You can send this by email to [email protected]

We will then advise whether you may submit a full proposal. Please note: an invitation to submit a full proposal does not mean that we will grant the funding, as this decision will only be taken on consideration of the full proposal.
