Spring Budget 2024: Consultation on Raising Standards in the tax advice market

A key budget announcement for the tax services market is the consultation on Raising Standards in the tax advice market – strengthening the regulatory framework and improving registration.
  
This brings the potential for significant changes to CIOT as a professional body and our members. Options include mandatory membership of, and regulation by, the professional bodies. We’ve had some early discussions with HMRC and will be responding to the consultation by the deadline of 29th May.
